With a hot single, āI Donāt Need Youā blazing the radio, Jhene has created a buzz around herself based off of her vocals and songwriting skills. Oh and the help of Drakeā¦The combination is enough for Vibe to dub her the modern-day Sade for millennials.
Jhene graces Vibe Magazineās Summer issue with a few of her fellow rising artists: Mack Wilds and August Alsina (who are also gracing the Music Matters stage at the 2014 BET Experiences) where she opened up about her artistry.
āIāve never killed a guy, and Iāve never went to jail, but those are the things I have to get out of my head some way,ā she says. āItās writing a song and then turning my crazy thoughts into those moments where Iām like, I could really do that, but Iām not going to.ā
