The Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness wants to get a prevention drug to people who are most at risk of getting HIV. Truvada is about 92% effective in keep HIV negative people from getting the infection. Truvada is expensive and without insurance it could cost up to $1,500 per month so the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness has partnered with Truvada’s manufacturer to connect the uninsured with prescription assistance.
