Claressa Shields Opens Up About Falling in Love with Papoose

Claressa Shields is clearly smitten with Papoose, and it’s evident that their relationship is in the early stages of a whirlwind romance! The undefeated boxing champ recently shared her excitement about being with someone who is equally ready to give and receive love. “I’m happy to love somebody who’s ready to love somebody back. He is such a sweetheart,” Claressa revealed in a video.

It’s only been a few days since the couple went public, with Papoose showing his full support at one of Claressa’s boxing matches. He was right there by her side, even performing during her entrance. In a live stream, Claressa also addressed the viral moment when Papoose fixed her shoe. While she didn’t ask him to do it, she shared that he just wanted to make sure her laces were “right.”

“He’s definitely a sweetheart. But he deserves the best, and I am the best,” she said, emphasizing just how special their connection is.

For Claressa, the love feels different this time around. She mentioned that Papoose’s support and the way he speaks to her are unlike anything she’s experienced before. While the pair doesn’t mind their public relationship, she made it clear that she wants to keep Papoose all to herself!

As for the critics who have been commenting on their relationship, especially about whether it’s an “upgrade” or “downgrade,” Claressa isn’t bothered. “That’s not what love is about because I think we both feel like we both upgraded. But it’s not about feeling like you upgraded or downgraded, it’s about you feeling like you’re with somebody you really love!” she said.

The relationship stirred some controversy after Papoose’s estranged wife, Remy Ma, exposed their romance online in December. She shared text messages between them, which sparked a back-and-forth online. Papoose clarified that he had been seeking to separate from Remy Ma for some time, even mentioning an altercation with her rumored boyfriend, Eazy Tha Block Captain. Meanwhile, Claressa called out Remy for allegedly having multiple boyfriends.
