Cardi B didn’t hold back when venting about President Donald Trump’s appearance at the Super Bowl, revealing in the process that a family member had been deported.

After the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, Cardi took to social media to express her frustration with the intense security measures due to Trump’s attendance.

“Yo, I was too f***king mad today because, you know, Donald Trump and sh*t,” she said in an Instagram video. “He was at the Super Bowl today, and they was giving us a hard time. Oh my gosh. The Secret Service was not playing at that motherf***ker.”

She went on to explain how the hassle of getting into the stadium led to one of her expensive shoes being damaged. “This shoe cost me three bands,” she said. “All ‘cause of Trump. Now I like him lesser. Now I like him lesser because you didn’t have to go to no damn Super Bowl. F**king up my shoe.”

Then, seemingly out of frustration, Cardi mentioned something more personal: “Now he’s gonna have to—well, he definitely ain’t gon’ do that—bring my uncle… back, because my uncle got deported.”

She didn’t provide more details about her uncle’s situation, but her comments reignited discussions about Trump’s controversial immigration policies. During his presidency, Trump enforced a hardline approach to immigration, expanding deportation efforts and eliminating protections for many undocumented immigrants. Under his administration, policies like family separations at the U.S.-Mexico border and an expanded list of deportable offenses led to a sharp rise in removals. According to ICE data, deportations surged past 267,000 in 2019, with Latin American countries being the most affected.

Trump also ended the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, putting thousands of young undocumented immigrants at risk of deportation, though court challenges temporarily blocked its full termination. Additionally, his administration imposed restrictions on asylum seekers and attempted to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for immigrants from countries facing natural disasters or conflict.

Colombian-American actor John Leguizamo has also spoken out against these policies, calling them “dehumanizing” and an “attack on Latin immigrants.” Many activists and immigrant rights groups continue to push back against Trump’s immigration legacy, fearing a return to similar policies if he were to be re-elected.
