Small Business Saturday is part of a week-long shopping experience during Thanksgiving weekend. As we approach the Christmas season, brands offer sales that allow consumers to stock up on gifts for themselves and their loved ones. Most companies begin to roll out opportunities to save big on the Monday of Thanksgiving, while others take advantage of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And while more prominent brands can slash prices in half to satisfy consumer needs, smaller businesses do what they can to appeal to their audience while competing with large retailers.

Small Business Saturday was created to help small businesses gain visibility and financial support during the holiday season. According to the US Small Business Association, “In 2023, the reported projected spending in the U.S. from those who shopped at small businesses on Small Business Saturday was around $17 billion.” In other words, shopping with small business owners has a promising impact on the company, allowing them to grow in revenue and clientele. This also helps consumers pour back into their communities, strengthening the bond between the brand and those who patronize them.
